ERDAS Imagine Introduction and EMR
This week was the first time I've ever used the ERDAS Imagine software. We were given several images to study and observe in order to investigate the metadata and become familiar with the program itself. For the below example, I used the Inquire Box in Imagine to query a specific area captured by Landsat TN. The original data set provided was of a forested area in Washington state. This task took more than a few attempts in Imagine to successfully create a new column in the attribute table and get it to correctly populate only the inquired area rather than duplicate the entire area. To make the inlay, I created a polygon feature class and imported it to the map layer around the Inquire Box feature layer. I manually had to enter the area in the map's legend to avoid having two separate legends for the different values (name and area).
